Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Marvin graduated from University of Pittsburgh in 1968 with concentrations in Chemistry, Physics and Biology. After a stay in the U.S. Army, Marvin went to work as a Foreign Exchange Trader/International Loan Officer for Society Bank (now Key Bank) before embarking on over four decades in the lumber business — a business that is strikingly similar to Foreign Exchange where your “your word is your bond.” Marvin strongly believes, like Woody Hayes, “It all starts with blocking and tackling — three yards and a cloud of dust. If you focus on the fundamentals and make sure there’s a foundation for growth, you will grow, ” Marvin says.
